The comprehensive redevelopment project at 850 Cambridge Street, Cambridge, MA, encompasses the construction of the new King Open Elementary School, Cambridge Street Upper School, Valente Branch Library, Gold Star Pool, and spaces for Human Services including preschool and afterschool programs, along with Cambridge Public Schools Administrative offices and parking facilities. Managed by the City of Cambridge’s Construction Program Manager, Michael J. Black, and designed by William Rawn Associates, Architects, Inc., the project aims to achieve Net Zero Emissions and is currently on track for LEED Gold certification. The construction is overseen by W.T. Rich, ensuring meticulous attention to sustainable building practices. This initiative underscores the city’s commitment to sustainability, housed within a strategically located block bounded by Cambridge Street, Willow Street, Berkshire Street, and Donnelly Field
